Clinical Research Nurse or Experienced Clinical Research Coordinator

Coordinates, implements and evaluates clinical research trials, studies and projects. Provides direction in the development of research protocols. Screens, recruits and schedules potential study participants and develops and conducts patient and family education accordingly. Assists with oversight of financial activities to ensure operations remain within approved levels. Performs research patient evaluations, administers medications and/or devices and research instruments and provides nursing support to perform specialized diagnostic, therapeutic and surgical procedures. Collects data, assists in developing data collection systems and compiles reports. Engages with the Emory Institutional Review Board and the Grady Research Oversight Committee. Assists in writing research grants, publications in medical and nursing literature, study materials, brochures and correspondence. Provides direction and may supervise other research staff or other research support members. Performs related responsibilities as required. Attends research study team meetings. Employees in this classification may be required to work with, take specific precautions against and/or be immunized against potentially hazardous agents. Transports and processes biological specimens (training provided). May perform phlebotomy. Performs emergency CPR. 

Must have transportation and must be able to work at EUH (primary site) and/or EUHM.   Minimum of 3 years' research experience.  Salary depends on experience and qualifications but expected to be at least $63,500.  For clinical research nurses, there is a potential to transition into a clinical research nurse manager position next year after an initial training period.

Our primary academic affiliations are with Emory University, Georgia Tech, Georgia State University, and Morehouse School of Medicine, and student volunteers from these institutions are encouraged to reach out about volunteer opportunities. Other volunteers are less likely to be able to achieve credentialing for our projects due to strict regulations in place at the Atlanta VA.
